Grattis! Unibet takes top honours at EGR 2016 Operator Awards

Industry news source EGR has crowned Swedish-based Unibet Group as ‘Operator of the Year’ at its EGR 2016 Operator Awards.

Hosted at the HRC Artillery Garden, Unibet proved to be the night’s big winners, taking home the top industry honour of ‘Operator of the Year’ and the further awards of ‘Socially Responsible Operator’ and ‘Best Marketing Campaign’ for its multi-award winning “Luck Is No Coincidence” campaign.

Unibet’s Group Commercial Officer Ebba Ljungerud was pleased to collect the awards on behalf of the operator: “This is a true testament to the great teamwork everyone in the Unibet Group contributes and how all of our brands and teams work together to achieve a common goal – to give our customers the best experience.”

The awards night saw bet365 defend its title for the fourth year running as EGR’s ‘Sports Betting Operator’ of the year. The bookmaker further maintained its sports betting credentials winning ‘Best in-Play Sports Operator’.

Sky Betting & Gaming retained top honours for industry mobile accolades, retaining its title of ‘Mobile Sports Product’ and ‘Mobile Operator’ of the year.

Further sports betting categories saw Pinnacle win EGR’s first ever ‘eSports Operator’ category. Harry Lang, Marketing Director at Pinnacle, commented on the award: “We’ve invested a massive amount of time and effort to become a leader in the eSports betting field, so this recognition is greatly appreciated. We’re happy that Pinnacle is still seen as the front-runner in eSports betting and we hope to maintain this position in the future.”

Irish bookmaker BetBright would win its first ever EGR Award of ‘Best in-house Developed Product’, with Betsson AB taking home the recognition of ‘Customer Services Operator’ for 2016.

Igaming categories saw Paddy Power recognised as ‘Casino Operator’ of the year. Industry games content supplier NetEnt would add to its successful showing at EGR’s B2B Awards (June 2016), by winning the coveted ‘Game of Year’ title for its ‘Guns N’ Roses’ slot title.

Per Eriksson, CEO of NetEnt, commented on the accolade: “It’s an incredible achievement to win Game of the Year for the second successive year and we’re incredibly proud of the achievements of Guns N’ Roses.It has been NetEnt’s most ambitious project to date, so we’re delighted that our hard work and endeavours have paid off. We couldn’t’ be happier to top a really strong field.”
