Entain CEE appoints Mikolaj Cymerman as CCO

Entain CCE has appointed Mikolaj Cymerman to serve as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of the Central and Eastern European venture of FTSE100 Entain Plc.

The appointment was confirmed by Cymerman on LinkedIn, who revealed that he would take on the dual responsibilities of commercial lead for Entain CEE as well as serving as an advisor to the board of STS SA.

The Entain CEE venture was launched in August 2022, via a strategic partnership with Czech private equity group EMMA Capital.

The launch of Entain CEE was subsequently followed by the acquisition of Croatia betting market leader SuperSport for €600m, a deal co-funded by EMMA Capital.

Expanding its presence within CEE markets, in 2023 the venture acquired STS Group for £750m, adding Poland’s biggest bookmaker to its portfolio.

Commenting on LinkedIn, Cymerman stated: “I will keep it short… I’m pumped to announce two pieces of news: I will be joining STS S.A. as an Advisor to the Board, and also I will be continuing my work at Entain CEE in a new capacity as Chief Commercial Officer.

“I can’t wait to keep the momentum going with STS and SuperSport teams!”

In order to complete the acquisition of STS, Entain sanctioned a £600m private bookbuild, a move criticized by US shareholders.

Concluding 2023 trading, Entain triggered a strategic review of its business, following the departure of CEO Jette Nygaard-Andersen.

Entain remains committed to maintaining its CEE venture, targeting underpenetrated growth markets.
