IGT to unlock cloud technology for Switzerland’s Loterie Romande

The Swiss Société de la Loterie de la Suisse Romande (Loterie Romande) has extended its partnership with IGT for a further 10 years.

IGT will continue to provide its ilottery services to Loterie Romande until 2031 under the terms of the renewal, deploying its back-end to replace its partner’s existing system, with the goal of enhancing the overall player experience for Swiss customers.

An additional caveat of the agreement focuses around the migration of Loterie Romande’s digital system to the cloud, which IGT states will bring about added security, stability and a reduced time to market.

Jean-Luc Moner-Banet, Loterie Romande CEO, said: “IGT has partnered with Loterie Romande for nearly 30 years, supplying us with the most advanced lottery hardware, systems and services that have maximised our contributions to good causes throughout the six French-speaking cantons in Switzerland where our players live.

“We trust that by converting to IGT’s iLottery system, we will be equipped with faster access to player data and analytics to ensure we offer the best player experience possible and responsibly drive sales growth to further benefit charitable organisations.”

Further extolling the benefits of the cloud, IGT states that its technological collaboration with Loterie Romande will see the firm benefit from ‘faster and easier integration of data and insights’ as part of the player experience enhancement.

IGT’s Aurora core lottery central system will also be rolled out, targeting innovation and profitability, alongside a customised electronic lottery system and a ‘suite of comprehensive responsible gaming features’.

The partnership is IGT’s second since the publication of its Q3 trading results, after a deal Loto-Quebec last month, which centred on delivery of its video lottery solution Intelligen.

In its last financial update, the company detailed that despite a slowdown experienced by its Global Lottery division, overall group revenue had risen by 8% year-on-year from $984m to $1.06bn.

“This extension agreement between Loterie Romande and IGT builds upon our comprehensive long-term partnership and represents the next evolution in supplying Swiss lottery players with unrivalled experiences,” said Jay Gendron, IGT Chief Operating Officer, Global Lottery.

“IGT’s sophisticated ilottery system will offer Loterie Romande a dynamic 360-degree player view to easily adapt to customer needs and wide-ranging modules to effectively manage and grow its iLottery program.”
