NBA 2K League hands out indefinite bans following betting breaches

The NBA 2K League has announced that it has disqualified six players and a coach from competing in any league games.

Following an investigation, the aforementioned associates had been found to have violated the sport’s gambling rules.

Christopher Lafanette, Dorian Earl Miller and Robert Nastasi of Blazer5 Gaming, Kimanni Ingram of Jazz Gaming, and Zekirri Dennis of Mavs Gaming all placed bets on NBA 2K League games.

President of the tournament, Brendan Donohue, commented: “The integrity of our game is, and always will be, the NBA 2K League’s top priority.

“We take our obligation to the competition and to our fans incredibly seriously, and we will always act forcefully regarding violations of the rules governing game integrity and the related reporting and cooperation requirements.”

Some of the bets were made by other individuals on behalf of the players, and the rules were also infringed by players failing to report violations or cooperate fully with the investigation.

The bans are indefinite, with the official esports league making the announcement on Twitter last Thursday, while outlining how these people breached the organisation’s fantasy and gambling rules.
