Dmitry Voshkarin: GG.BET is developing a new ecosystem for esports fans

SBC News Dmitry Voshkarin: GG.BET is developing a new ecosystem for esports fansWhilst esports is still a relatively new vertical, its growth in popularity is meteoric. And for those who might be a newcomer to the sport, it is imperative that operators are offering an exciting user experience. This is something that GG.BET says it is confident in doing.

Speaking to SBC News, CEO Dmitry Voshkarin discussed the company’s partnerships with PGL tournaments, highlighting how this agreement is “more than just branding” and, instead, is offering something totally new for the esports sector.

SBC: Thanks for taking the time to chat with us! So for those that don’t know, can you introduce GG.BET?

GG.BET is an international esports betting company, which was founded by esports fans so that our fellow esports aficionados could enjoy the real thrills esports bring to the table.

At present, GG.BET boasts the largest selection of esports markets around, covering 34 disciplines in total, and the number of events we offer is constantly increasing. What’s more, we’ve also got a number of expert traders on our team who dive deep into the esports world
to investigate all the newest additions to the industry.

They meticulously study all the latest esports disciplines in order to find out what even the most seasoned esports fans want to bet on. Thanks to this you can always find new, unique markets at GG.BET.

We’re also actively involved in the growth of the esports industry. In the past 12 months, GG.BET has partnered up with some of the biggest CS:GO and Dota 2 tournaments. We’ve also sponsored the legendary Natus Vincere for a number of years and we joined forces with another big name from the esports world, Team Vitality’s CS:GO team, this August.

Moreover, we also support influencers in their endeavours to grow the esports community by giving them the opportunity to produce content that is on another level in terms of quality.

We’re developing an entire ecosystem for esports fans so that they can feel the thrill of the game and enjoy an electrifying betting experience. Esports is our life, it’s our passion and we want everyone to feel that this is real!

SBC: You were an exclusive betting partner for the Dota 2 PGL Major Arlington 2022 tournament, as well as the exclusive betting partners of PGL Antwerp 2022 and PGL Stockholm 2021. What did these partnerships entail?

PGL tournaments always attract our target audience, and the attention garnered by streams of these competitions is comparable to that of more “traditional” sports events. What’s more, the bigger the tournament, the more viewers we can attract. Sponsoring these tournaments allows us to achieve a number of things.

Firstly, it provides us with a channel which we can use to share GG.BET’s key brand messages and spread awareness of them. This helps us to highlight the advantages of the services we offer and attract new users to our platform.

Secondly, it’s also one of the main ways in which we support the esports industry, as without the help of sponsors, tournament organisers would find it very difficult to make their tournaments bigger and better every year, as well as offer such fantastic prizes to the winners.

Our partnership with PGL allows us to dive headfirst into these tournaments, with joint announcements, a presence in tournament streams and communications, and in some cases, appearances at the venues themselves.

For us though, this partnership is about more than just branding and joint publications. That’s because, as I’ve already said, our objectives don’t only include expanding our reach and getting our key messages out there, we’re also working to make esports more popular and help the industry itself grow.

That’s why, every time we’re gearing up for a tournament, we prepare just as we would for one of our own projects, creating a concept and a full range of activities.

Now, our collaboration with PGL has reached the next stage of its logical evolution. GG.BET is the first ever official betting partner of the Dota Pro Circuit – the first three stages of the biggest event in the Dota 2 calendar – The International 2022. We’ve lent our support to the Regional Qualifiers, Last Chance Qualifier, and the Group Stage.

SBC: Can you tell us about how GG.BET uses major esports tournaments to create both unique content and activities for esports fans?

Esports tournaments are a great way to give esports fans what they love. Everything we do is designed to answer the questions “what can we add to this event?” and “how do we max out the thrill factor?”. This kind of thinking was what gave rise to the ideas we brought to PGL Antwerp 2022.

At the arena itself, we built our GG.BOOTH, which served as a hotspot for some great photos and social media stories, a meeting point for players and fans, and the background for plenty of videoshoots by influencers and other visitors. Next to the Photo Zone was our Creative Zone, where fans could make posters to cheer on their favourites during the tournament.

We also set up a Charity Zone where visitors could support Ukraine, and it was here that we organised our autograph session with Natus Vincere. We also created a GG.Quest, which required fans to find stickers hidden around the arena for a chance to win CS:GO skins.

When it came to creating content, we teamed up with Europe’s most popular esports media company, HLTV – creators of the Recap Show – to work on a joint project. And, to make sure that even fans who couldn’t make it to the venue still got to enjoy the atmosphere, we posted a vlog on our GG! MEDIA YouTube channel. This content reached a total audience of 2 million.

During PGL Arlington 2022, we teamed up with influencers to run a range of social media activities. In “Battle of the Predictors”, the experts competed throughout the tournament to see whose predictions would turn out to be the most accurate. Especially for the tournament, our brand ambassador Jenkins produced a series of recaps of the best moments.

Besides this, fans also had their chance to win in-game skins by taking part in quizzes on GG.BET ambassadors’ social media pages. In total, all these activities engaged an audience of over 300,000.

Our aim is to continue improving the quality of esports content all over the world, which is why we focus so much on creating our own. Together with our brand ambassadors, we let our creative juices flow and are always coming up with something new and exciting. This is the best way to support the industry and draw attention to it.

SBC: How does this help drive betting engagement with esports, both for new bettors as well as existing esports fans?

When we create engaging content, we draw in a new audience and help to boost the popularity of esports as a whole, which also means bringing a new audience to our own platform.

High-quality videos, interactive content featuring our ambassadors, analysis and predictions – all of this helps betting newcomers to experience all the excitement esports has to offer, and recognise it as a challenger to traditional sports.

For regular esports bettors, we’ve cooked up some special activities to help the fans gain even deeper insight into the gaming world. We want to give fans the chance to get even more out of the games, since esports betting is simply an extension of the games themselves.

Having said that, attracting a new user is only the first step. GG.BET users should be treated to the very best esports betting experience every time they open the website or the app, which is why they put so much effort into developing our product. One of our latest additions was the new personalised feed, which is tailored to the preferences of each individual user.

For our next big update, we’re planning to introduce our new interface inspired by the games themselves, which will make the actual betting process even more fun. We’re also constantly improving our offering of esports events and coming up with unique markets.

SBC: Finally, what can we expect from GG.BET in the coming months?

GG.BET is continuing with its strategy to expand the esports industry on a global scale. Coming up, we’ve got international tournaments and major collaborations with people who are just as passionate about esports as we are.

As for what’s next… I don’t want to spoil anything! Keep up with all the latest from GG.BET on social media to make sure you don’t miss anything.
