Groupe FDJ has announced a major commercial development, as its FDJ Gaming Solutions B2B technology subsidiary has won the tender to redevelop the retail distribution network of LOTTO Bayern.
Working with retail technology partner Groupe Carrus, FDJ Gaming Solutions has been tasked with deploying +4,300 of its ELITE camera-based lottery terminals to upgrade LOTTO Bayern’s retail network
The deal is of heightened significance for the FDJ B2B unit as LOTTO Bavaria serves as the Bundesländer sanctioned lottery and casino operator for Bavaria, Germany’s second largest autonomous state, which has a population of 11.5 million.
FDJ Gaming Solutions will also be tasked with revamping LOTTO Bayern’s terminal application and player management suite, to help the operator optimise the day-to-day management of its upgraded lottery network.
FDJ Gaming Solutions CEO Pascal Blyau said: “LOTTO Bayern is one of the biggest gambling operators in Germany, which will benefit from our innovative solutions. We are pleased that our R&D efforts in image analysis are rewarded with camera-based lottery terminals becoming the new market standard.
“Thanks to the application stack we built for German lotteries we strongly believe that we will further expand FDJ Gaming Solutions position in the country.”
The project will see FDJ work with Carrus, a trusted retail IT partner that has worked on previous large-scale system deployments for FDJ across France.
“We are honoured by this mark of trust from LOTTO Bayern. Under this contract, we will work together with our key partner, FDJ Gaming Solutions. This project is part of our joint success story as we have been cooperating for more than 20 years,” said Timothée Carrus, CEO of Groupe Carrus.
