Leading sports betting affiliate and media portal Oddschecker, has stated its intent on expanding its services within the liberalised US betting market, confirming the appointment of Nick Wilby as its first Head of US.

A 10-year veteran in marketing and publishing, Wilby joins Oddschecker’s senior management team from Stockholm listed competitor Catena Media, where he formerly served as Head of Sports Publishing (2017-2019).

Wilby holds further marketing experience, having served as Head of Betting & Gaming, and as the former Head of Racing Content for UK sportsbook affiliate Caledonian Publishing, the operator of legacy sports betting portal – BettingPro.com

The senior appointment, sees Wilby take control of Oddschecker’s initial US market strategy, and further building-up the firm’s US portal content provisions.

In 2019, Oddschecker’s main European market rivals, Better Collective (bettingexpert.com), Catena Media, RakeTech have moved to launch their initial US portals.

At present, it is unknown what states or guiding strategy, Oddschecker will undertake to compete in the hotly contested US market, or whether the company will choose to grow its services via a strategic partnership.
