Betsson selects Omnicom starlet ‘Hearts & Science’ as European marketing lead

Stockholm-listed online gambling group Betsson AB has selected Omnicom subsidiary agency Hearts & Science as its new European media and marketing lead.

The London-based agency will act as Betsson’s group-wide marketing strategist covering European media buys, campaign planning and programmatic advertising.

Hearts & Science will support Betsson marketing teams across the territories of Denmark, Italy, Norway and Spain.

Betsson AB represents the first online gambling client of Hearts & Science, one of the younger Omnicom agency subsidiaries.

Founded in 2016, Hearts & Science is considered one marketing’s fastest growing agencies, operating on a ‘data and intelligence first approach’, the London agency has secured the multi-million £ advertising accounts’ of AT&T, Audible Amazon, Qatar Airways and Toshiba.

Entering 2018, Betsson AB Group CEO Pontus Lindwall put in motion a ‘corporate recovery plan’ following a lacklustre 2017.

The recovery plan has seen Betsson governance restructure the firms marketing department and operations focusing on generating cost efficiencies through optimal localization.

Under its new structure, Betsson marketing now operates through ‘country teams’, rather than its previous brand-led approach.
