Independent online bookmaker bet365 has committed £7.7 million towards building a 33,500 square foot ‘leisure & training centre’ at Etruria Valley Business Park (Stoke-on-Trent – Staffordshire).

The bookmaker has been granted planning permission by Stoke City Council to redevelop the area, with the facility expected to be open by April 2018.

The Etruria Valley premises is set to feature two five-a-side football pitches, a multi-purpose gym area, games section, changing rooms, training facilities, offices combined with onsite staff parking.

Staffordshire business news sources report that property developer St Modwen has won the contract to design and develop bet365’s Etruria Valley project.

bet365 Group Property Director Richard Smith commented on the development: “We realise the importance of health and wellness in the workplace and encourage colleagues to enjoy the new facilities once completed.”

This May bet365 detailed that it was seeking a further 100 new tech-led employees for its Manchester ‘Spring Gardens’ development hub. In its headquarters of Stoke, the independent bookmaker plans to add another 300 new jobs in the coming year as the company continues its ambitious growth plans.
