Gaming retail giant GAME has made its latest esports acquisition, with the news that it’s bought Spanish platform SocialNAT. 
In March 2015 GAME acquired Multiplay, a UK esports event organiser, for a fee in the region of £20m. The financial terms of the SocialNAT deal have not been disclosed.
SocialNAT has over 150,000 registered users. It’s extremely popular in the Spanish esports community and organised the esports activities at last year’s Madrid Games Week.
GAME Spain Managing Director Pablo Crespo said of the purchase: “GAME is firmly committed to delivering the best experiences across all areas of the interactive entertainment and video games business. Esports present one of the most exciting developments in the industry and the acquisition of SocialNAT will help to accelerate our plans in this area, particularly in Spain.”
SocialNAT Co-Founder and Managing Director Emilio Grande added: “We are delighted to become part of the GAME team. We know that the support and experience of a group such as GAME will enable us to offer the very best service and experience to our audience and players, allowing us to continue the growth we have achieved to date.”
