EIG Berlin Start-Up LaunchPad Final 10 announced

Clarion Gaming Event organisers of the upcoming  EIG Berlin Expo, Germany announced the final 10 candidates of the 2014 Start-up Launch Pad.

With more than 30 entries were submitted for the seventh edition of the competition, which has been likened to the ‘Dragon’s Den’ television programme. The final 10 candidates are Asylum Labs, Betify, Capito Systems, FLIP Sports, Fresh8 Gaming, DiscountIF, Jannio, Kydeamos,LEVBET and RiftSino VR.

Clarion Events will unveil the five finalists on September 26, with the candidates then invited to pitch their propositions to the judges and face a Q&A session in a room full of iGaming executives during EiG 2014, which will take place at Arena Berlin from October 21-23.

In a joint statement, Chris North, CEO of GamCrowd, the crowd-funding platform co-hosting the Start-Up Zone at EiG, and Nick Hares, Managing Producer at Clarion Events, said: “We were delighted by the strength of the field of entrants to this year’s competition and would like to thank everyone who took the time to prepare and submit their entry.

“From such a strong longlist, we have a near-impossible task ahead of us to select the final shortlist of the five entries that will present their business plans to the judges at EiG next month.”

The winner will be selected through an audience vote, with the finalists also having the opportunity to showcase their company at the Start-Up Village with a stand on the EiG show floor.

The judges – or ‘Dragons’ – who will grill the finalists are Mark Blandford, Partner, Burlywood Capital; Evan Hoff, Partner, Velo Partners; Ian Hogg, Chairman, GamCrowd; Anthony McAuslan, Director of Gaming, RoyalWins; and Hilary Stewart-Jones, Partner, DLA Piper.

Element Wave, Element Software’s push notification and analytics service for mobile devices, won the competition in 2013. Dorothy Creaven, the Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Element Software, will speak at EiG 2014 about the experience.

“It was a very competitive and exciting process, right from the application process through to the pitch,”I’m really looking forward to seeing the candidates this year and hearing their pitches, and also talking about what winning last year’s competition has meant for us.” Creaven said.
