London Conference will address both DFS and esports

Marc Lesnik, Ticonderoga Ventures

Ticonderoga Ventures, Inc. has announced that the second international eSports 2016 Conference will take place on September 23rd at the Strand Palace Hotel in London.

It will be run alongside and in conjunction with the Daily Fantasy Sports Expo.

Marc Lesnik, Conference Organiser, said of the two events: “I have seen for the last 2 years a die hard group of gaming operators in Europe interested in the daily fantasy sports market. The rules need not be the same as the US, allowing for more unique forms of games. So we felt that London would be a great place to have this event.

“It’s a single day and it’s really fast paced. It’s also on a Friday. As such it’s a perfect day for the gaming industry in London.”

“We decided to add an esports track to the event. Online gaming operators were keen to this market for a while. It used to be called ‘Skill Gaming’ in the noughties. It pivoted and became esports, with a market of over 150 million people and rapidly growing. The market size is over $250m (£189.5m). It was an obvious decision to include this track at the event.”

The organisers have lined up some of the best in the DFS business with speakers on the fantasy sports side including Oulala CEO Valery Bollier, DraftKings Chief International Officer Jeffrey Haas, Alex Rutherford Head of Mobile Gaming at William Hill, Mondogoal’s International Director Richard Graham and FantasyBet co-Founder Viktor Enoksen amongst others.

On the esports side there is Pieter van den Heuvel, Esports Team Leader at Newzoo, Spike Laurie, Co-Managing Director at ESL, and Simon Best, Sponsor and Talent Manager at MCM Esports.

Oliver Ring, journalist at Esports Insider, will also be speaking on a panel focused on wagering in esports.

The Esports Insider team will be providing live coverage of the event which you can have access to by following along on Twitter via @esportsinsider_.

The convention and expo will provide networking opportunities to attendees with topical issues concerning operations, technology, investment and business strategy on the discussion table.
