Catena appoints US VP Michael Daly as CEO elect

The board of Catena Media has confirmed the promotion of current North America VP Michael Daly to Chief Executive, with the leadership appointment effective from 1 March.

Based in Las Vegas, Daly has spearheaded Catena’s publishing, M&A and growth strategy for the US wagering market since 2018.

Prior to joining Catena, Daly oversaw the North American business units of Nasdaq-listed igaming platform and turnkey services provider GAN Plc (2015-2018).

“It has been exciting working with Catena Media’s US growth engine these last few years,” said Daly.

“And now the opportunity to work directly with all our global teams is even more exhilarating, as it is a much bigger growth engine.”

Daly’s promotion will see current Interim CEO Göran Blomberg resume his position as Chairman of the Board, with current governance lead Öystein Engebretsen resuming his previous role as an executive director.

The Stockholm-listed affiliate publisher undertook short-term changes to its board and leadership following the departure of former CEO Per Hellberg during Q4 2020.

“I have great trust and confidence in Michael as new CEO of the company,” commented Blomberg. “He is a true leader with a deep knowledge of the company as well as the business. His achievement in developing the US market speaks for itself and I am convinced he is the right person to take Catena into the next development phase.”
