Gambling.com recruits Johannes Bergh as strategic lead

Gambling.com Group has strengthened its executive leadership team by appointing Johannes Bergh as new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) to maintain growth momentum across multiple international markets.

A seasoned digital growth strategist, Bergh has joined the affiliate marketing publisher’s leadership team from industry rival Catena Media Plc, where he served as Chief Operations Officer (2017-2020).

During his executive tenure at Catena, Bergh was responsible for the innovation and integration of acquired assets which grew Catena’s corporate revenues from €40 million in 2016 to €103 million by 2019.

Updating stakeholders, Gambling.com highlighted Bergh’s ‘deep experience’ in managing performance marketing verticals for online gambling.

“The appointment of Johannes Bergh marks only the second time in 14 years we have brought on a new C-level officer to the Group,” said Gambling.com Group Chief Executive Charles Gillespie.

“I consider us incredibly fortunate to have connected with JB at the right time and look forward to working with him to deliver the next chapter of Gambling.com Group’s growth.”

Based in Dublin, Bergh will hold strategic oversight of Gambling.com’s existing portfolio of international websites, as well as being responsible for identifying and executing growth across new markets.

Bergh commented: “With its best-in-class use of technology and a portfolio of fast-growing brands, the team at Gambling.com Group has created something exceptional. I am excited to bring my experience to the team and help the company grow in new markets such as the United States.”
