Betsson View Mobile Expansion in the Next 12 Months

Upper management at Swedish and Malta based betting operator Betsson have predicted that mobile phone usage on its betting and gaming verticals will increase ‘significantly’ during the upcoming next twelve months. The news comes after second quarter results show that 9 percent of all revenue came from mobile phones, an increase of 1 percent from the first quarter.

A statement from the firm said: “The high level of growth in the use of Smartphones contributes to a strong demand for mobile gaming solutions.”

Overall the firm’s second quarter revenues increased 19 percent year-on-year to SEK579.2m (£58m) with operating income rising 26 percent to K137.8m (£13.8m). Gross turnover also rose 26 percent, amounting to K3.4bn (£340m).

Betsson also said in its Q2 report that the rapid growth in the number of internet users across the globe will be a fundamental driver for the business.”
