PIN-UP: flexibility & expertise sets Frogo anti-fraud solution apart

The maiden event of a calendar year often proves to be a breeding ground when it comes to fresh developments across the igaming space, and this year proved no different as PIN-UP Global took to the stage.

Officially pulling back the curtain on what was billed as a comprehensive anti-fraud platform, Frogo leaped into action in a bid to elevate businesses to the next level and more crucially help drive clients’ profits to never-before-seen heights.

Speaking to SBC News on the Barcelona showfloor, CEO Volodymyr Todurov elaborated on the thought process behind this latest introduction, offered details on its inner workings, noted a selection of challenges encountered during the development process and proclaimed just why this stands head and shoulders above similar offerings.

SBC News: Following the launch of your anti-fraud product, could you talk us through the thoughts behind the name and why you chose it, as well as why now was the perfect time to bring it to the market?

Volodymyr Todurov: We have launched our comprehensive anti-fraud platform, Frogo, to demonstrate that we are not a streaky business, but aim for consistent and sustained growth.

We chose this friendly name because we are always open to talk and easygoing. Also, the frog that catches mosquitos best demonstrates our mission — rapidly catching the fraud.

We see a lack of knowledge in building risk management processes in our industry; very few analysts on the market know how to turn a company’s financial losses into profits.

We want to scale our business and help others, share our expertise, and go to new markets and industries.

SBCN: Could you just tell us a bit more about the solution and how it works? What are some of the main features?

VT: This anti-fraud platform is an all-in-one solution that comprises a number of tools. We have a scoring engine and graph-based forensics tools that are designed for fraud incident investigations.

This helps us to find all user connections via the system, analyse CPA fraud for cheating activities in one click, and run forensics for internal fraud.

In addition we have a few models that are run by artificial intelligence, so its complementary but also runs as a standalone solution. Frogo also has its own algorithm of fingerprinting.

We have our own anti-fraud algorithms, which helps us be very flexible in detecting fraud and rapidly changing our logic in case somebody wants to bypass the system.

SBCN: Who would you identify as your target audience for the latest product and how will they benefit from it?

VT: We are primarily focusing on igaming operators and platform providers. This is mainly due to the vast expertise we have in these operations, however we have already talked with some payment systems, CRMs, and different businesses such as media creators, because they also have financial transactions and we are very flexible in adopting to business needs.

The one thing that we need is the overall understanding of the product, and if there is a lack of expertise on their side, we’ll also help based on our experience in the market.

The main thing is flexibility and our expertise, that’s what really sets Frogo apart from others that are available.

SBCN: What would you identify as the biggest fraud issues facing businesses today and what advice would you give to stakeholders to help tackle them?

VT: I believe that the general issue is automation. Nowadays, it’s very easy to use AI when it comes to your automation needs and to run various schemes. At the moment, I would say it’s like a race between fraudsters and the operators.

However, you also need good automated instruments and tools to prevent attacks or to minimise the losses if an attack happened and somebody bypassed your system.

SBCN: How long did it take to develop your product and what were the main challenges you faced?

VT: It took around a year and a half to develop our Frogo anti-fraud platform. After that, we ran for more than one year in operation internally. Even though we are now ready to go to market, we’re still developing our tools and still looking to improve them.

The main problem or challenge was creating a scalable B2B architecture. If we didn’t manage it, it could have become a potential problem in the future when we started to expand. We need good architecture and design systems to expand smoothly for new businesses, and now we have them.

SBCN: What are your expectations regarding the market reaction of your product?

VT: We expect new connections because we have a vast community of our old colleagues and friends. It is very easy for us to talk with the whole industry, but new stars rise every year.

We are expecting something really exciting. Operators who understand the necessity of fraud protection and with whom we can showcase our solution gaining more profit than they are currently seeing.
