The Association of British Bookmakers (ABB) has published a video in which bookmakers explain the new measures that have been introduced onto betting shop gaming machines, more commonly known as FOBTs.
In a statement, the ABB commented: “Even though problem gambling levels are at record low in England, we do acknowledge that some of our customers will have problems with their gambling. That is why the Association of British Bookmakers and its members launched a new code of responsible gambling and player protection, introducing new measures, they effectiveness of which will be closely monitored.
The new announcement video details the various responsible gambling marketing materials now found in all ABB shops and the new time and limit technology added to our electronic gaming machines to remind users to think about their gambling habits.”
Among those featured are Graham Weir, Head of Responsible Gambling at Ladbrokes; Peter Jowett, Development and Licensing Manager at JenningsBet; Andrew Lyman, Head of Public Affairs at William Hill and Dirk Vennix, CEO of the Association of British Bookmakers.
