Offsidegaming Strike Uganda Partnership

Offsidegaming, has today announced expanding  its sportsbook and mobile partnership with Worldstar betting, in the Ugandan region of Africa. Working closely with Worldstar betting Uganda, Offsidegaming has developed and provided mobile and desktop solutions to the bookmakers existing chain of 70 shops in the market. For this project Offside Gaming developed a specific version of its mobile website that supports Opera Mini browser that is used on over 2000 million mobile devices in the region.

Whilst many in the gaming industry look to LATAM and the Middle East for emerging markets, Offsidegaming has concentrated its efforts in to the development of the African region with Uganda being first of many projects in the African market with 2014 being the year more will follow. With internet penetration on the rise in Africa, 2013 saw it increase by 15% and mobile penetration over 90%, with the forecast that by the end of 2014 nearly 70% of these users will have internet access, it leaves a very open and untouched market.

Commenting on this the Managing Director of Worldstar betting Uganda, Michael Soze has said “ We were really surprised by the volumes that we have seen in the first few weeks trading in Uganda. There is a massive appetite for sports betting generally and we are looking forward to getting more projects launched in the African continent generally.”

Further to this CEO at Offsidegaming Matthew Alexander commented “Stepping in to the African market is a giant leap for us at Offside and we really can’t wait to see it grow. Working with Worldstar betting Uganda on a more in-depth basis is great and we enjoying learning about this previously unknown market every-day and seeing new trends that will be invaluable to us both. We will be launching a number of projects in Uganda, Nigeria and Ghana in the coming months using retail shop network for transactions and adding mobile, payment systems in coming months.”
