Entain has appointed Charlotte Emery as the company’s latest Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) overseeing its UK operations.
Emery previously held a stint as the Chief Brand Officer for William Hill until January 2023, having started her gaming career in 2018. Before joining the sector, Emery held a role in consumer goods with British American Tobacco.
On LinkedIn, she wrote: “I’m thrilled to announce my new role as CMO at Entain UK! Excited to dive into this opportunity, meet the team, and reconnect with a few familiar faces. Entain UK boasts a fantastic portfolio of brands in an industry I’m passionate about.
“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported me over the last year. My friends and family have been brilliantly positive and helpful in guiding me through this journey of deciding ‘what now’.
“I’ve also worked on some really interesting consultancy projects with amazing people and I wish them every success moving forward.
“It’s been an enjoyable ride but now it’s time to go back to what I love. Can’t wait for the adventure ahead!”
Emery joins Entain at a significant moment in the company’s operating history. The firm has been enjoying strong growth globally, undertaking prominent acquisitions in recent years, but has also faced some regulatory turbulence.
In light of 2023 results amounting to £900m in corporate losses, the FTSE-listed group launched an internal strategic review in January, which was completed last month with the help of the Capital Allocation Committee (CAC).
The outcome advised Entain to keep prioritising growth in North America, focusing on the organic growth driven by its BetMGM joint venture with US betting and entertainment conglomerate MGM Resorts.
