Uk based racecourse operator Arena Racing Company have made public the announcement that Lord Michael Howard of Lympne has resigned from his corporate duty as Chairman of Arena Racing.
Micheal Howard the previous UK Conservative Party leader had served as Chairman of Northern Racing since 2008, Lord Howard continued his position after the business had been merged with Arena Leisure to form Arena Racing Company in 2012.
Arena Racing Company current managing director Tony Kelly said that while he was sad to see Howard resign, he noted that Howard’s decision was not related to the business or policies of the company.”The Board of ARC wish Lord Howard well in his future endeavours and thank him for his invaluable input into the Company over the past six years,” Kelly added.
Arena Racing Company is currently one of the largest racecourse operators in the UK, responsible for around 38 per cent of the fixture list. It owns and operates 16 courses across the country, including venues in Doncaster, Lingfield, Newcastle and Wolverhampton. It also operates the Chepstow course in Wales, where the Welsh Grand National takes place, and agreed an extension on Coral’s sponsorship of the event in December last year.
