Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has announced that it has created “the ChatGPT version of horseracing”.
Introduced by Executive Director of Racing Andrew Harding, the release gives fans access to a “digitally immersive” customer experience.
During the Asian Racing Conference in Sapporo, Harding commented: “Fan engagement is no mere buzzword, it will determine our future.”
Dennis Hau, the club’s Executive Director of Customer Strategy, added that current offerings are insufficient and highlighted plans to introduce innovative features such as AI-generated race cards and augmented reality horse performance.
HKCJ also emphasises how it has adopted a “data-driven approach” to retain existing customers’ engagement, as well as attract a new generation of customers.
“Without data and without understanding our customers, we would be flying blind,” Hau continued. “We would only be able to provide a one-size-fits-all service.
In recent news, HKJC revealed a total turnover of HK$134.7bn ($17.3bn ) for the 2023/24 season, slightly down 4.5% from HK$141.1bn ($18.1bn) in the previous year.
