LiveScore calls for ‘Extra Added Time’ on mental health

LiveScore and former Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov are joining forces to encourage fans to take “Extra Added Time” for their mental health.

As part of this campaign, LiveScore will donate £250 to charity for every key Premier League moment delivered via its app after the 90th minute throughout November.

The “Extra Added Time” initiative aligns with the recent trend of increased added time across major football leagues. During the 2023/24 season, Premier League matches have seen an additional 38% of play, with the average match duration extending to 101 minutes and 42 seconds.

While fans anxiously await dramatic last-minute goals or even red cards beyond the 90th minute, LiveScore is transforming these pivotal moments into support for the mental well-being of the football community.

In addition to a total donation of £10,000 to a leading mental health charity, Bloomsbury Football—an organisation dedicated to transforming the lives of young people across London through football—will receive £3,000 to support its mental health coaching program.

Leading the campaign is Dimitar Berbatov, who famously scored an equalising penalty for Tottenham in extra time during their victorious 2008 League Cup Final. The former Premier League icon is calling on fans to take extra time to focus on their mental health.

Dimitar Berbatov, ambassador for “Extra Added Time,” said: “Football has a unique power to bring joy to the world, and nothing unites people like last-minute goals. That’s why I’m thrilled to partner with LiveScore for this campaign. The donation for every added-time moment will make a meaningful difference, and together, we hope to inspire people to take more time for their mental health.”

The extended added time in the Premier League has also resulted in a surge in goals scored after the 90th minute, increasing by over 110%—from 49 goals in the 2022/23 season to 103 in 2023/24.

Fans can track the campaign’s progress directly through the LiveScore app, allowing them to engage with the initiative while staying updated on critical moments in the game.

LiveScore CEO Sam Sadi added: “For over 25 years, LiveScore has delivered every moment to fans. We are proud to see this campaign turn these moments into vital donations, as we harness the power of football to support the mental well-being of the entire football community.”
