Football Pools Record Breaker Jackpot is Hit

Footballpoolsin this, its 90th anniversary year, The Football Pools are delighted to announce another record-breaking weekend, as a player scooped over £440,000 on a 12-fixture predictor game.

This weekend, the winning player on Jackpot 12 successfully predicted the outcome of 12 games. French Ligue 1 game, Sochaux v Bastia, was to determine the size of his win, as two players went into the last game with the chance to win a share of the jackpot. One player had backed Sochaux to win, the other had covered the draw and the away win. Sochaux’s 74th minute equaliser gave the winning player some concerns, but they were unable to take advantage of the momentum and take a win. The resulting draw secured him as a single winner of £441,605.

Former England goalkeeper Gordon Banks, who was part of England’s 1966 World Cup winning team and is a Football Pools ambassador, had urged football fans to try their luck last weekend and one lucky player won the biggest prize in Jackpot 12’s history – £441,605.

Banks was delighted to hear about the big winner. “This weekend Jackpot 12 featured matches from the Premier League, the Championship, SPL, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga and the Pool size grew to a record high of over £600,000. It was great to see a winner and it shows the Football Pools still has the magic, continuing to create big winners from stakes as little as 50p.”

Over the past nine decades, The Football Pools, an iconic British brand, has paid out £3.2 billion in prize money to over 61 million winning customers. With a Top Prize on the Classic Pools of £3 Million every game, there are always lots of chances to win big for their loyal customers.
