Sky Bet the igaming arm to UK digital broadcaster BSkyB has announced that it increased revenues to £155m in the year to June 30. Sky Bet confirm that the strong performance can be attributing to the relaunch of its new Sky Bet mobile betting application and the operators strong focus to engage customer behavior towards wagering on its mobile and tablet based products.
Richard Flint MD of Sky Bet commented on the positive results: “We’ve had a really good year and a big driver for that growth is betting on mobile. We updated it in the spring to make it faster and include more Sky content.”
The strong performance from Sky Bet, puts the company in a strong position to reach its targets for 2013, with August seeing the start of a new English football season. Sky Bet recently became the new title sponsor of The Football League, which will see the Leeds based igaming operator become the brand sponsor of league football for the next five years.
This new agreement is Sky Bet’s first ever off-screen football sponsorship and is aimed at building even greater awareness of Sky Bet’s growing range of online and mobile betting services. Sky Bet have further increased coverage and awareness of their mobile products by creating strong promotional and partnership channels with other BSkyB digital and broadcast verticals such as Sky Sports and Sky Broadband.
