Online and mobile payments solution Skrill (previously named Moneybookers) has been announced as the new title sponsor of English soccer’s Football Conference. The English Football Conference will be named ‘The Skrill Football Conference’ for the upcoming English football season.
Skrill will put its name to the competition’s national upper and regional second tiers – which sit just below professional league soccer in England – for the next three years. The divisions will be known as the Skrill Premier, Skrill North and Skrill South.
Financial terms were not released but the deal is said to be “comparable” to previous agreements. Earlier in July, Football Conference general manager Dennis Strudwick told BBC Sport that the deal was worth around UK £20,000 a year to each of the top-tier clubs, and between UK£7,500 and UK£10,000 to each of those in the level below.
