Operator William Hill has announced the signing of England cricket legend Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff as its cricket brand ambassador ahead of this years Ashes test match series, to be contested in England. William Hill have confirmed that Mr Flintoff will be used in offline an online campaigns, and furthermore the ex Engalnd cricketer will give fans advise with regards to betting on the series. William Hill will also be running cricket and Flintoff promotions to for its existing and new customers.
William Hill chief marketing officer, Kristof Fahy, commented on the signing of Flintoff, as “a huge coup”, adding that the former cricketer “perfectly embodies what we want from our ambassadors, Freddie is opinionated, deeply passionate about the game and instantly recognizable to the fans and public”.
Andrew Flintoff shot to fame in 2005 when he was an instrumental figure in England’s first Ashes series win in over Australia since 1985. In that series the England all rounder managed to take 20 wickets and score over 400 runs, a feat never achieved by an English cricketer. England’s long awaited victory over Australia saw Mr Flintoff win the 2005 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award.
Andrew Flintoff has over 1.2 million Twitter followers and stars in popular ‘Sky One comedy A League of Their Own’ with English Comedian James Corden, he joins William Hill brand ambassadors ex premiership footballer Robbie Savage and horse racing jockey AP Mccoy.
