English Premier League football club Aston Villa have announced a new shirt sponsor in Dafabet. The Philippines bookmaker will be the Birmingham football clubs shirt sponsor for the next two football seasons, taking over from igaming operator Genting as the footballs main shirt sponsor. Dafabet will feature in both home and away Aston Villa Shirts, as part of the new sponsorship Dafabet will also contribute a donation and help with Aston Villa support for Birmingham based children’s hospital Acorns.
Dafabet were named by EGR Magazine in the their igaming Power 50 List for 2013 (position 21). The bookmakers advertising was seen during the 2012/13 Premier League season, and the bookmaker are also further endorsed by retired footballer and now football pundit for the BBC – Alan Shearer.
Dimitris Karatzas, MD of online gaming for Dafabet commented “After entering the Premier League last season as international betting partners to two clubs, we saw the increased potential of becoming an official club sponsor. We are delighted to see Dafabet on the front of such a well-recognised shirt and to be associated with a club respected throughout the footballing world. I am sure all the fans will agree the kit looks great.”
Aston Villa CEO – Paul Faulkner welcomed the deal, commenting: “Crucially for us, during negotiations Dafabet displayed a strong willingness to work with us in our continued support for Acorns and we look forward to progressing some ideas around that in the near future. This will be a good and positive partnership for the club and we are looking forward to working together with Dafabet as we continue to build and move the club forward”
