DraftKings steps into the World of live sports streaming

Sports-tech and media company, DraftKings has announced it is venturing into the world of live sports streaming through its newly-formed partnership with Euroleague Basketball.

As a result of the deal, customers will be able to stream selected Turkish Airlines EuroLeague basketball games directly through their DraftKings mobile app, as well as utilising both fantasy contests and live content.

The announcement follows on from DraftKings growing its executive team and moving into five new national  markets.

Speaking at at the Web Summit conference in Lisbon this week, the group’s CEO and co-founder, Jason Robins said: “Our goal is to become the one-stop destination and mobile companion for sports fans globally. Adding a live streaming component allows us to provide the best and most seamless product for our customers. This is what the future of sports looks like.”

In the first quarter of 2018, DraftKings will provide its customers with live coverage of EuroLeague games on the DraftKings app, as well as a further opportunity to watch multiple games by playing in a $3 and above DraftKings contest.

Commenting on the deal, Jordi Bertomeu, Euroleague Basketball President and CEO added: “We are proud to be breaking new ground with such a forward-thinking partner as DraftKings. Combining fantasy with live-streamed games is a perfect match, not only for the countless passionate EuroLeague fans we have already, but for the many new ones who will now discover our unique brand of basketball through DraftKings.”

This Tuesday will also see DraftKings offer EuroLeague games will also become available in a 6-a-side fantasy product, similar to classic NBA game on DraftKings.
