SBC Digital Innovation – Payment Expert to set the stage for compliance and Open Banking discussions

Leading industry media and events organisation SBC is hosting the latest in the Digital Innovation series of online conferences on Wednesday June 12, with Digital Innovation – Payment Expert, a full day event presented in partnership with PXP Financial

The agenda, sponsored by agenda partners GambleID and Approvely, covers key topics that will be further discussed throughout the year at industry events, including at the inaugural Payment Expert Summit at SBC Summit 2024 in Lisbon.

Kicking off the content at 9:30 BST is a session on open banking, where speakers Dwaine Thomas (Director & Deputy COO, PXP Financial), Bryan Cherrett (Head of Payments, kwiff), Theresia Mallia (Head of Payments Product, Kindred) and Fredric Hellsen (Manager Strategic Payments Projects, LeoVegas) will discuss the opportunities and obstacles for operators around open banking.

Compliance will also be a key topic on the day, with back-to-back sessions on ID Verification and AML taking us through to the afternoon.

First up, Martyn Elliott (Media Project Director, SBC) moderates a session entitled ‘Navigating the pathways to digital ID’ joined by JD Garner (Founder, GambleID), Chelsie Cooper (Founder & CEO, Approvely), Charlotta Shelbourg (Director of Product – LeCor, Kindred) and Miguel Luis (Head of Compliance, LeBull), that will focus on the use of biometric technology to counter fraud.

That’s followed by ‘Bulletproofing an igaming anti-money laundering strategy’, where Payment Expert Editor Ted Orme-Claye welcomes Thees Buschmann (Senior Consultant, Chevron Group) and Piotr Lisak (MLRO & AML Governance Officer, Kindred) to discuss what measures are available to ensure operators remain at the forefront of AML and CTF requirements.

Orme-Claye, who will also moderate the opening session of the day, said: “This conference gives us a unique opportunity to delve deeper into some of the key topics facing the industry ahead of the first ever Payment Expert Summit in Lisbon later this year.”

Orme-Claye went on to add: “I’m excited to get the chance to pick the brains of some of the foremost experts in the space on open banking and AML, and I’m confident that attendees of the event will come away with a greater understanding of these topics, with their appetites whetted for further discussions on this year’s event calendar.”

Other topics on the agenda for Digital Innovation – Payment Expert include crypto regulation featuring Riccardo Tordera from The Payments Association, payments in Latin America where Kamran Hedjiri (Group CEO, PXP Financial) will join SBC Noticias’ Fernando Noodt Molins, and blockchain’s impact as the potential future of igaming payments.

The event kicks off at 9:30 AM BST, and will continue until 4:30 PM, with all sessions available on demand for those who can’t make the live airing.
