Football prediction game Predikta has signed up Phil Neville to support the re-launch of the brand’s platform, which connects mates, colleagues and even ex-players in a network for predicting football scores.
Revamped to be more sociable and sharable, with the option to use Wisdom of the Predikta Crowd for accumulators, Predikta posts a list of ten matches ahead of each weekend and challenges platers to predict the outcome. Points are awarded depending on the accuracy of predictions and real time goal updates are delivered straight to a player’s device, making it easy to track league position and bets.
Each week a winner is determined, with points also accumulated to form a league table for the season. Using the score predictions, Predikta also crafts accumulators, allowing players to put ‘their money where your mouth is’ with a seamless integration with Predikta’s betting partner – Ladbrokes.
Neville, who will be supporting Predikta, said: “Football is the most popular sport in the world and Predikta creates a fun community that you can play with your friends and family. I’m excited to be involved and looking forward to seeing how I get on with the predictions!”
Predikta founder Jeff Boekstein commented: “Predikta has been redesigned, re-thought and is being re-launched. We have updated the user interface, making it possible to play Predikta on the go, on your tablet or smartphone and we have built in social media tools, which will incorporate live goal updates. Predikta is a quick, social, fun way of keeping in touch with people that matter to you, whilst enjoying the world’s most popular sport and hopefully making a bit of money on the side too.”
The platform also features a fan’s Anorak section, which lets you track the league’s biggest gainers, fallers and also uncovers football’s less loyal fans with its embarrassing Judas index. If the team that a user supports wins or draws after they predicted that they would lose, the user is then placed on the Judas index for all to see. A new ‘banter’ button has also been added, which allows players to boast about any bookie bashing feats or stay in touch with other league members. Each week, Predikta publishes the latest set of results, so you can dish out banter accordingly. Predikta has also signed a deal with football fans’ favourite website Goal.com, as its football prediction partner.
