Microgaming’s MPN have announced the launch of the MPN Poker Tour (MPNPT), which will debut in London this spring. During the inaugural year, the MPNPT will visit several locations across Europe, including London, Malta and Tallinn. Each venue will deliver a fun and friendly poker festival with an emphasis on building a community among MPN players and operators. Every festival will consist of a deep-stacked, slow-structured €550 Main Event, plus several cheaper Side Events; making the tour excellent value for money and accessible for casual and serious players alike.

The MPN will also bring some of its exclusive online innovations to the live poker environment; players can earn special Achievements for taking part in live events, play live versions of their favourite online tournaments and may even get the chance to fire a real-life Blazing Cannon!

“We have built some fantastic poker features over the past couple of years and we plan to bring them to the MPN Poker Tour,” said Lydia Barbara, Head of Poker at Microgaming.

The tour’s first stop is in London, from the 29th May to the 2nd June 2014. It features a range of poker events including the €550 Main Event, ‘The Mosh Pit Live’ (a fun, fast £50 rebuy event) and an Open Face Chinese Poker Side Event. Taking place at the Aspers Casino in Stratford, home of London’s largest poker room, the festival promises to deliver some thrilling poker action in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Players can qualify for the MPNPT on 24hPoker.com, Betsafe.com, Betsson.com, BetVictor.com, NordicBet.com, Paf.com, Pokerihuone.com, PokerHeaven.com, StanJames.com and Triobet.com. Satellites are live and players can qualify for as little as €0.01.

MPNPT operators had a lot to say about the upcoming tour: “We love London, and so do our players, so it’s a natural choice for the first stop,” says Shaun Barron, Director of HB Gaming, which operates Poker Heaven, the latest operator to join the MPN. “It’s an exciting destination with a lot to offer, and it will be a great way to kick off the tour!”

“I’m very excited about Tallinn; it’s a truly beautiful city,” commented Patrik Backlund, Head of Poker at iGame, which runs the 24hPoker and Pokerihuone brands on the MPN. “Tallinn is earning a reputation as one of the best stops in a European poker tour, and we can’t wait to show our players why.”

“We are delighted to be part of the MPN Poker Tour,” said Andy Horne, Head of Poker at BetVictor. “The majority of our players have never played a live event before. They are glad of the opportunity to qualify for a live event with a decent buy-in for, essentially, just the pennies in their pockets.”

“Live events are very important to us – meeting our players and socialising with them is a core part of what we do,” explained Herbert Paradis, Head of Poker at Paf. “We’re thrilled about the MPNPT and we would like to thank Microgaming for pulling out the stops and facilitating what is going to be a fantastic poker tour!”

“The MPNPT looks set to be a fun-filled and action-packed poker tour,” commented Richard Cunningham, Poker Product Manager at Stan James. “It has something different to make it stand out from the other tours out there, like the chance to play Blazing Cannon, not to mention the famous MPN community spirit!”

“I’m looking forward to seeing the MPN running their own live events again,” added Christopher Hirst, Head of Poker at Betsson Group, which runs the Betsson, Betsafe, NordicBet and Triobet brands on the MPN. “I still have fond memories of the Monte Carlo Millions, which produced some of the best poker I’ve ever seen! We will see an equally friendly atmosphere and even more exciting play on the MPNPT.”
