Kindred taps into India’s “Silicon Valley” talent pool with new Bengaluru hub

Kindred Group is opening a new Tech Hub in Bengaluru, the capital of the state of Karnataka in India.

The hub will expand Kindred’s tech capabilities by tapping into a rich pool of talent to complement its operations teams across Europe and Australia.

Speaking to two of the key figures behind the development of the hub, Kindred shed some more light on the possibilities that Bengaluru offers in terms of driving the gaming sector forward.

Nikos Christodoulou, Kindred’s Head of IT in India, reflected on his journey of relocating from Gibraltar to Bengaluru, and the slew of new opportunities it has brought with it.

Christodoulou expressed a particular excitement to be able to tap into the tech fabric of the Karnataka capital, describing a “vibrant environment” filled with bustling fast-growing startups that foster innovation.

Explaining why he joined Kindred, Christodoulou pointed to the company’s rapid product expansion. This includes its racing offering and the push to turn it into a fully fledged in-house sportsbook platform.

According to Christodoulou, this vision further boosts Kindred’s ambitions to achieve greater end-to-end control of its product offering to simultaneously build up the customer experience as well.

Moreover, this would play nicely into the company’s Journey towards Zero initiative. Thiswas launched three years ago with the goal of eliminating all revenues generated by harmful gambling and, although facing minor setbacks recently, is still going strong well into 2024.

Moving on with the interview, Kindred turned to Sukruthi N Kumar, Talent Acquisition Partner, to get a better understanding of the hires the Bengaluru Tech Hub is looking for.

Kumar believes that the best candidates will have a passion for technology, gaming and responsible practices, and will look forward to making a positive impact on the online gaming world.

In Kumar’s words, Bengaluru “is the Silicon Valley” of India – a place that holds an enormous pool of talent that will easily fit into Kindred’s work culture and growth plans
