The Asian Football Confederation has selected sports betting technology and sports information suppliers and analysts – Sportsrader as integrity partners for the surveillance and analysis of football matches under the Asian Football Confederation. International Football competitions include the AFC Champions League, AFC Cup and the 2015 Asian Cup and world cup qualifiers and play-offs for the region.
The AFC and Sportsrader partnership will help police football matches, and analyze suspect match play and fixing in the region.
The partnership between the two parties was agreed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.AFC general secretary Dato’ Alex Soosay signed the agrrement on behalf of the Asian Football Confederation Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl stamped his companys commitment to help monitor Asian football matches. Koerl Commented:
“Sportradar is prepared to do its part to help AFC fight match fixing in football. I’d also like to commend the continental football body for being proactive in this endeavour because match manipulation in sports has taken a different twist with the involvement of sophisticated international organised crime organisations.”
