Flutter UKI on the lookout for startups to boost female gaming offering

Flutter UKI has launched a search for a ‘high potential’ startup to help serve its female customer base across the UK and Ireland.

Part of the Alpha Hub programme, Flutter’s endeavour will see its flagship brands Sky Betting and Gaming, Paddy Power, and Betfair try to capitalise on recent data suggesting that female players are a promising demographic for long-term investments.

The startup will help develop ideas and formulate products that better reflect the playstyle of the female demographic, emphasising on attracting customers through social and community gaming.

Steve Birch, Chief Commercial Officer at Sky Betting & Gaming, commented: “We see this as a really exciting gap in the market, and we’re looking forward to finding and partnering with innovative startups through the Alpha Hub program to seize this opportunity.”

Flutter is specifically looking for digital solutions that will focus on “helping customers to unwind, have fun, and relax”.

For applicants who “don’t quite fit the brief”, Flutter is offering a ‘wildcard option’ to those startups that can help guide the company in a direction that will ensure ‘safe and entertaining experiences’ for female players further down the line.

The startup that wins first place will be offered a commercial partnership with Flutter to scale their solution across the UK and Ireland, access to workshops and networking with senior  figures in the company, and access to the Alpha Hub Startup Support programme.

The successful startup will also gain the opportunity to showcase their business to a live audience of investors, tech experts and leaders from Flutter.

Applications are now open until 15 March 2024.
