Sportradar asserts AI-backed odds tech driving operator profits

Sportradar has reported that its AI-driven personalised odds technology, Alpha Odds, made a significant contribution to operator trading during UEFA European Championship qualifying matches.

The firm outlined that Alpha Odds has boosted bookmaker profits by 15% during the qualifying fixtures. With the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 anticipated to generate more than €62.2bn in global betting turnover, Sportradar emphasised that operators can maximise profits and manage risk by utilising this product during the tournament.

Darren Small, Senior VP of Managed Trading Services at Sportradar, stated: “The predictive capabilities that Sportradar has developed for Alpha Odds are proving to be a game changer ahead of this summer’s tournament, enabling operators to consistently improve profitability and deliver higher margins across soccer betting.”

Launched in 2022, Alpha Odds leverages Sportradar’s advanced AI technology to more accurately predict the probability of a game event taking place. The product’s aim is to enable operators to manage risk more effectively.

When combined with real-time and predicted liquidity, Alpha Odds allows operators to generate bespoke betting prices in line with risk exposure and liabilities.

As examples of how Alpha Odds increased profitability for operators during the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers, where one team was heavily favoured, Alpha Odds helped clients manage risk in real-time and continued to accept bets as goals were tallied and the scoreline grew.

The technology is available across Sportradar’s portfolio of betting markets for football and tennis, both pre-match and in-play. The company has said that the solution will be expanded across basketball later this year.

Last week, Sportradar also announced that it had teamed up with UTR Sports to drive fan and bettor engagement across the UTR Pro Tennis Tour (PTT) tournament.

The partnership will commence in January 2025, and will give Sportradar exclusive rights to official PTT data and audiovisual feeds to deliver an enhanced betting experience.
