Kindred places technology as the core theme of 2020 Sustainable Gambling Conference

Kindred Group Plc has disclosed that its fifth annual ‘Sustainable Gambling Conference will encourage its executive delegates to explore the question of ‘how technology can support a more sustainable industry?’

Due to take place on 21 October, Kindred’s sustainability conference will take place as an online event to accommodate COVID-19 measures.

Each year Kindred invites executive guests from health services, politics, marketing, technology, sports, social welfare and industry competitors to openly discuss the long-term sustainability, customer care and integrity challenges facing all industry stakeholders.

For its 2020 edition, Kindred stated that participants will be asked to ‘explore how the gambling industry can make better use of data and artificial intelligence to detect and prevent harmful gambling behaviour, and integrity related challenges’.

Leading critical debates and discussions is a roster of expert speakers including Dr David Forsström, Researcher at the Department of Psychology at Stockholm University, who will share key findings on how artificial intelligence can be better leveraged for sustainable gambling.

Chris Eade, Founder of Melbourne-based data intelligence agency Zafty, will also share his first-account knowledge on developing technology R&D and best practices for mass-market enterprises.

Of heightened importance, Kindred underlined that during its conference there will be a series of discussions on ‘improved cooperation between regulators, researchers and the industry’ which will involve representatives of France’s L’Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ), the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and Sweden’s gambling inspectorate Spelinspektionen.

“Having representatives from experienced regulators displays the importance of this conference. Getting their perspective combined with the industry and other stakeholders on how we need to work together is a central component in building a sustainable industry.”
