Coral relaunches cinematic campaign for racing’s return

Coral has welcomed the return of horseracing on terrestrial TV screens by launching it’s new ‘At the Races advert, which forms part of the bookmaker’s wider ‘Coral Racing’ campaign.

This February, Coral launched its ‘Coral Racing’ campaign, a ‘cinematic HD series’ of adverts produced by BBH London as the bookmaker’s new lead creative advertising agency.

The campaign was launched as Coral’s flagship advert for the interrupted 2020 UK racing season, debuting with the Cheltenham Festival (10-13 March).

Coral has now reactivated its campaign following UK racing’s three-month hiatus under national lockdown orders.

This Saturday, terrestrial broadcaster ITV will broadcast an afternoon of horseracing on its flagship ITV1 channel (13:00-16:00hrs) beginning with the 2000 Guineas Stake’ at Newmarket, which will be the first competitive sports broadcast from the UK since lockdown began.

Dominic Grounsell, Managing Director for UK & Eire Sports Brands at GVC Group, said: “It’s great to have racing back on our screens, behind closed doors. Racing fans have missed their sport, so with this new campaign which we shot at the beginning of the year, we’ve set out to bring our passion for racing to life.

“We’ve seen plenty of horse racing scenes in adverts before, but with this advert we’ve been more adventurous, using a combination of filming techniques that capture the feeling of being there in a way viewers won’t have experienced before.

“We want to remind viewers what exactly it is about racing that makes it our passion, as well as give new audiences a perspective on racing that really arrests the senses.”
