Leading Canadian sports betting portal CanadaSportsBetting.ca has launched an exclusive betting market, which will enable the public to bet on ‘US President Donald Trump’s lies and mistruths‘.
Referencing the Washington Post ‘Trump Fact Checker’, which to date has indicated that the US’ 45th President has made 13,435 false/misleading claims whilst in office, CanadaSportsBetting.ca believes it has North America’s most engaging political betting market.
“Now, for the first time ever, sports bettors can bet on Donald Trump’s lie-total at the end of the year.” explained Daniel Templeton, COO of operations at CanadaSportsBetting.ca.
At present tracking, President Trump is averaging 603 lies per-month so far in 2019 alone, telling a reported 5,785 lies according to the Washington Post.
CanadaSportsBetting.ca reports that in January, punters bet on how much Trump would lie in his Oval Office address and won $276,424. Now bookmakers are taking bets on Trump’s lie-total at the end of 2019.
“Our analysis suggested a significant probability that the U.S President will continue to tell mistruths, surpassing a total of 14,000 lies (according to the Washington Post fact-checker) by the end of the year,” added Templeton. “We could not find any bookmakers offering a suitable betting-market, so it made sense to team up with an online sportsbook to open a suitable betting market.”
The opening odds show an Implied Probability of 54.1% that Donald Trump will exceed 14,000 lies by the end of the year.
