Joining GVC on 1 September, Curtis will be tasked with overseeing the FTSE100 firm’s group communication strategies across UK and international markets. Her appointment has also been marked as key to developing GVC’s media profile within the US market.

In her executive remit, Curtis will report to both Grainne Hurst, Group Corporate Affairs Director, and David Lloyd-Seed, Director of Investor Relations and External Communications.

Hurst said: “Tessa’s appointment will help GVC to amplify its ambitions, values and unique competitive advantages as the company continues to strengthen and build its core team.

“She will join both the expanding corporate affairs and investor relations teams at GVC, and will work closely with Jay Dossetter, who has recently been promoted to Head of ESG and Press Office.”

A 20-year corporate communications specialist, Curtis is the former Managing Director of financial services practices for Weber Shandwick Worldwide.

Prior to joining GVC, Curtis established her own independent communications consultancy, maintaining notable clients including the global executive search firm Odgers Berndtson, UK e-commerce payments platform Clearpay and Italian fashion group Benetton.

Curtis’ appointment is announced as GVC establishes its new executive leadership team, formed under the guidance of new Group Chief Executive Shay Segev who replaced long-term CEO incumbent Kenneth Alexander this summer.

Commenting on her appointment, Curtis said: “I am delighted to be coming on board at such an exciting point in GVC’s extraordinary growth, with a new leadership team and a clearly defined set of strategic priorities in place.

“GVC has a vibrant business at the intersection of international growth in e-commerce, sports and entertainment and is fully committed to the very highest standards across all its operations. I’m looking forward to joining a business with such a strong future and a great story to tell.”
