GeoComply appoints Sarafina Wolde as Global Markets lead

GeoComply has moved to strengthen its commercial and business development strategy by appointing Sarafina Wolde Gabriel as Senior Director of Global Markets.

The affiliate marketing figurehead confirmed via Linkedin that she had ended her 18-year tenure as an executive of Income Access, choosing to join the leadership team of the igaming fraud prevention and IP-security solutions provider.

The appointment follows GeoComply’s recent leadership overhaul, which saw company founder Anna Sainsbury re-appointed as CEO, replacing fellow co-founder David Briggs who will serve as a Corporate Director.

Entering 2022, GeoComply stated that its internal changes were required to undertake “strategic initiatives including the expansion of GeoComply’s cybersecurity services into new markets”.

Wolde Gabriel will be tasked with spearheading GeoComply’s new commercial strategy. The seasoned executive had formerly led all commercial units of Income Access, helping the business become the dominant affiliate marketing platform of the online gambling sector.

In 2016, PaySafe Group would acquire Income Access for $30 million, helping the former FTSE250 payments group enlarge its igaming services, ahead of its £3 billion buyout by private equity funds Blackstone and CVC Capital.

“After nearly 18 years at Income Access I have traded in my digital marketing hat for a cyber security one” Wolde Gabriel commented via Linkedin.

“I am delighted to embark on a new journey with Anna Sainsbury, David Briggs and the team at GeoComply to help support the company’s global growth of their market-leading innovative geolocation security and anti-fraud solutions.”

“I am grateful for the support of my colleagues and clients over the years and look forward to new adventures with you all.”
