Cheap and deep Pokerstars MEGASTACK heads to Malta

Malta’s Portomaso Casino is to see a return of the Pokerstars MEGASTACK series, following a successful stop earlier this year.

The addition to the schedule will see the grassroots tournament stage it’s €40,000 guaranteed main event between 19-22 October, with online satellites running from September 24 to October 18.

Aimed at delivering live poker at a low cost, the appeal of an increased top prize is heightened with a buy in of just €170.

Chris Moneymaker, Team PokerStars Pro, said:  “For a low buy-in of only €170, PokerStars MEGASTACK Malta is an event perfect for the bankroll of every beginner wanting a taste of live poker action.

“Not only will players compete for their share of the €40,000 Main Event guaranteed prize pool, but it’s also a great proving ground for those with an eye on playing a PokerStars Festival or Championship tournament in the future.”

With over 5,800 players contributing to a prize pool of €870,890 thus far, Pokerstars continues to see the MEGASTACK series grow in its inaugural year.

David Curtis, Europe Live Events Manager at PokerStars, commented:  “We are very proud of the success of PokerStars grassroots initiatives which were introduced in March this year.

“These tournaments have been highly anticipated by live and online poker players and have appealed to many players’ poker calendars.

“It is thanks to our players and partners that we’re able to hold some of the biggest poker tournaments across Europe.”
