Betsson hires Peter Zäll as Chief Strategy Officer with Swedish focus

Stockholm-listed online gambling group Betsson AB continues its executive management team restructure confirming the appointment of Peter Zäll as new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).

Zäll joins Betsson’s executive team from Swedish state-owned gambling operator Svenska Spel, where he served as Group VP of Product & Marketing (2012-2017).

Updating the media, Betsson governance confirmed that Zäll’s appointment would initially prioritise the firm’s strategy for the upcoming opening of a regulated Swedish online gambling marketplace in 2019.

Jesper Svensson, CEO Betsson AB Operations, detailed that the operator had found the best candidate in Zäll, with knowledge and experience in Swedish verticals, marketing and stakeholder management.

“I am delighted that Peter has decided to be part of the Betsson team as Chief Strategy Officer, his experience and personality fit the team perfectly. Also, as Betsson Group is gearing up for the opening of the Swedish gambling market there should be no better person to develop our position in the Swedish market,”  Svensson commented on the appointment.

Zäll is expected to join Betsson leadership this May and will be based out of Betsson’s operational headquarters in Malta.
